Works for Me Wednesday: Clear Skin

Not only do I get clear(er) skin from the Apricot Scrub I use, but I also get it from my makeup.

Up until last year, I used whatever I felt like buying or whatever had some sort of deal like a free powder, etc. Yet over and over again, I would see infomercials in the wee hours of the morning for Bare Minerals makeup.

Over and over I said, it's just another gimmick...someone trying to sell a product.

Well, more and more people I know started using it. At Thanksgiving talking to Mark's aunt, I found out she SWEARS by it. So, I gave in. I was determined to give it a try. Sure, I was leary spending that much money on makeup not knowing the reaction....but it had worked for so many real life people.

His Aunt gave me a gift certificate for Christmas to Sephora so I went and bought the Starter Kit.

Before you say anything about the price, let me say that I said the same thing. However, I got my kit in December for $60 and I didn't buy more until May. So really, it's cheaper. Another secret, you can buy it on Ebay even cheaper than that. On the website, it's $25 for a .3 oz foundation. The .2 oz lasted me roughly 5 months so it's well worth your trouble.

Give it a try. My skin is so much clearer, it has better coverage, it's lightweight, and it's easy to apply.

Bare Minerals works for me!!!

I have always wondered if that worked. Thanks for sharing your experience with it.

The best thing I've ever done for my skin was to use a 50% apple cider vinegar/50% water mixture as toner. It worked better than any commercial product I have ever tried - including Proactive and some other expensive garbage.

I'm not a makeup wearer, but that Bare Minerals stuff intrigues me. I wish I could get a sample pack of it somewhere so that I could "try before I buy!"

Okay, but does it *cover* up flaws or just provide a nice finish?

This is awesome make-up! It helped my skin too. It definately covers up flaws. Do not try the other brands because they are not as good. Especially their brushes. The only thing is that you have to use a good cleanser to get it all off. It is definately water proof. My face is proof that it is not so "pure you can sleep in it." I changed cleansers and after a week of not getting it all off I am really broke out.

I've been using Bare Minerals for 2 years and I will never use anything else ever again. For the first time in my life my acne prone skin could handle make up on a daily basis.

Yes, it does cover up! Yes, you can sleep in it one night without total disaster. Just don't do that every night. And my started kit lasted about 5-6 months when wearing make up every day too!

Thanks!
